Dancing with Jesus

My mom had called earlier to say she was at the ER with Grandpa. He has Lou Gehrig's disease and was having a hard time breathing. I told her to not worry, they would give him some oxygen and he would go home and be fine. I was actually more worried about how many stinking hours they would be stuck there.

And then I went out back and watered the plants.

When I came back in and saw that I had five missed calls, all from family members, and a text from Andy telling me to call him (he's on his way down to LA), I knew why everyone was trying to get ahold of me before I called.

I am sad.

I have cried.

Cried because I'm not there with my family.

Cried because Henry won't remember his great-grandpa.

Cried because he will never meet his twin great-granddaughters.

But I find rest and peace in knowing that my devoutly Catholic Avo is in heaven dancing with Jesus in a brand new, pain free body. A body that works just as it was intended to, and that he is in the presence of our Holy and Mighty God.

The more I think about it, I'm almost a little jealous...

I can't wait to see him again.

I'm sorry Jeanett--losing someone is so hard. But, I think it is comforting to think of him with Jesus with his body not broken. I'll pray for you and your family.

ohhhh that is so hard! I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. Big hugs to you! His memory will live on in the stories you can tell your kids about him. I never met my grandmother, but my mom sure kept her memory so alive that I feel a strong connection with her anyway :)

SO so sorry to hear this! He sounds like an amazing man and it really is a neat, crazy, beautiful thought to think of where he is and what he gets to experience now!!!
