We were supposed to close escrow today. I'll spare you the gory details, but basically we have had the absolute worst, most nightmarish escrow in the history of mankind. Nothing has been wrong with our loan application in terms of it "falling through", but anything and everything else you can think of...and stuff you didn't even think was possible. I have been on the phone more the last two weeks than I ever have in my entire life. The latest drama is that Countrywide (our lender) has a nationwide computer glitch. All is well in terms of our loan being approved...they just can't physically draw the documents and get them over to escrow for signature because the computer does a "hard stop". This glitch has been an issue since LAST THURSDAY. That is an eternity in escrow world. Each day that passes adds all kinds of drama and extra work.
All will work itself out, it's just a ridiculous amount of stress and we pray that it gets resolved today so that we can close by Tuesday.
In the meantime, Henry has developed a temper. When I take something away from him, he clenches his fist, squishes his eyes closed, screams and shakes. It's going to be an exhausting next few years. Poor kid is gonna have to spend a lot of time in his room (and with a red bottom to boot!).

oh, how frustrating! i'm sorry the escrow has been lousy! hopefully it will come together soon. these are the kind of stresses i do not look forward to as we plan to sell and buy this year.
Heehee, the thought of Henry having a temper makes me laugh, I must admit! I'm always so amazed by how so much about a child really comes down to "nature" (vs. nurture).
I say you just go start camping on the lawn of that house. Maybe that'll get things going!
Brianna, you only think his temper is funny because you're not his mom! :)
But yes, it is kind of a crack up to see his personality (even the bad parts) start to come through. So soon it seems!
As for camping...wouldn't help much considering the bank (owner) is in Chicago, so they wouldn't even know! We're just trying really really hard to be patient, and it's not really working to be honest. Sigh...
