Another helpful tip to reduce swelling: swimming. Something about the water pressure on the outside of your body and the inside and equilibrium...I don't know, I'm never been good at science. Anyway, I've decided to quit thinking Brenda is a little crazy, since her cucumber thing really does seem to be working. So, I figured I'd do a little swimming too.
Swimming, however, requires my wide bootie to squeeze into a maternity bathing suit. Luckily, there was one in the stack of hand me downs I got from a co-worker, but I never thought I would actually wear it. Never say never. I "borrowed" another co-worker's YMCA membership keychain and decided to brave the water. Besides the utter humilitation of walking from the side of the pool to get in the water and then back out again, it wasn't so bad. Once you're in the water, people can't really see you right? Right. So, I did laps for about 45 minutes. Not hard core swimmer laps, but I was moving the whole time. It felt really good on my back to be weightless for a bit. Anyway, I'll keep going a few times a week until Baby Boy makes his grand debut...the things I do for this kid...

Yay! Wife. I'm proud of you, thank you for doing all these things that I would have had to allow you a trip to the mall to do before.
Huh? That made no sense...and what do you mean ALLOW me???
Allow was not a very good choice of word, Andy. I think Andy means he would have had to bribe you with a trip to the mall, Jeannett. Be sure to keep track of all your sacrifices for producing guilt in the boy at a later date!
Seriously, Jeannett. I'm really proud of all you're doing for your baby. You are a great mom already.
Love you all.
That's great that you're doing some swimming! And on someone else's dime to boot. :)
Never had to squeeze into a bathing suit when I was visibly pregnant, having given birth in the months of February and March. Thank goodness!
Ahh... just wait til little boy Gibson wants to take part in the Mommy and Me swim class... and the only bathing suit that fits is the maternity one, but you're not pregnant anymore! (Not that this has ever happened to me... )
