A couple of days ago I was wandering the aisles of TJ Maxx. For nothing in particular. I was in the toy section when I passed a little girl playing with one of those terrible Bratz Dolls...apparently, if you pushed her skanky hooker shoe, she spoke.
In this particular case, she said: "You deserve to be happy!"
Without thinking, I looked at the little girl and said "That's not true. She's lying."
Poor kid. I think I made her cry. I felt kinda bad. But it's true.

HAHAHA! Good for you! I HATE those dolls. My kids will never own one. And whose bright idea was it to make a line of promiscuous, hooker-looking dolls for kids anyway?!
(Whatever happened to Peaches and Cream Barbie with her big puffy ballgown??? I don't care if I sound like a grumpy old lady, I refuse to get with the times if it means encouraging my toddlers to play with hooker-dolls!)
Nice job jeanette! Changing the world one deluded pre-teen at a time! I totally hate those dolls but I also hate barbie. (Sorry Brianna,) I had a peaches and cream barbie and it taught me to hate my body type and want to wear all the equally immodest fashions that fit her hourglass frame. If Eliannah ever gets a Barbie I'm trading it in for a skipper doll.
I personally think Bratz dolls promote a healthy self-esteem in young girls. They teach girls how to dress provacatively and the proper use of grease paint on the eyes, not to mention the accompanying negative attitude.
Just kidding.
And have you seen the people that shop for those dolls? It goes hand-in-hand.
I just googled this: If Barbie was real, she'd be 6 feet tall, 100pounds and measure 39/17/33. And she would need back surgery. We do have a Barbie who is decked out in a gorgeous antebellum dress that my mom painstakingly made when I was little.
We're keeping her.
But my mom also gave them new Holly Hobbie barbies that have REAL little girl bodies. Hallelujah.
And no, my daughters will not be having any Bratz items. They are awful.
Made me wonder, what other venom are they programmed to spew on our children?!?

my husband laughed out loud when i told him about this post and what you said to that little girl. kudos on making a point (though i really hope you didn't make her cry!).
