Baby Tad: MY HERO!

I CANNOT BELIEVE I FORGOT TO INCLUDE BABY TAD ON MY TOP 10 BABY ITEMS LIST!!!!

A while back, one of my co-workers was telling us the story of how her 18 month old woke up in the night, etc, etc. Being a new mom I asked: "But, how did you get her to go back to sleep since you don't nurse anymore and she doesn't take a bottle?" "Two words: Baby. Tad."

Basically, she had trained both her daughters to associate sleeping with Baby Tad. So that if they were ever up in the middle of the night for some reason, staying somewhere else, on vacation, whatever, they would still go to sleep as long as Tad was there to help.

Interestingly enough, I happened to have a Baby Tad up in the closet from Christmas (I packed away most of his gifts and opened up a new box every few months). So, even though he didn't need a Baby Tad yet, I started turning on the lullabye music at every nap time and night time. Soon enough, all it took was to see that green frog and his eyes would start to droop. Now, Baby Tad is a lifesaver and we take him with us camping, to grandma's house, everywhere.

"Do you want to go night night with Baby Tad?"

"Yeah"

And with that, we head upstairs without a fight.

awesome! that's a great "trigger" for bedtime. we have a baby tad (but he's a little different than the one in the picture). sometimes we play the night-time music on it at nap/bedtime.

triggers are wonderful. funny story about one of nehemiah's. since we sing "Jesus Loves Me" before naps and bedtime, nehemiah completely associates it with sleeping. so when he hears it sung somewhere, he starts snuggling up or lying on the floor. pretty cute.
