Kitchen Before/Afters

I just want to start off by saying that I *love* my kitchen. It's huge and that makes me happy. However, I really hate my white on white countertops and I'd love to have stainless steel appliances. Unfortunately, kitchen remodels are expensive, so it'll be at least until next summer before I get new countertops...at least. In the meantime, I added some color and made (yes made) some cafe curtains just to make it a little more home-y. (As in cozy, not g-funk homey). :)

BEFORE:

Bright white counters and walls contrast way too sharply with the cabinets.

Breakfast knook area.

AFTER:

Creamy yellow walls. Yellow and red striped cafe curtains (to match my Le Creuset!).

More curtains over the kitchen sink window. Bad lighting, sorry!

I also finally made the drapes for the dining room:

The fabric in the center is what inspired me to do the orange wall!

And, I just had to share these pictures of Henry (it is, after all, HIS blog!):

Abbie isn't typically very interested in the baby...unless he's in his high chair. Then, he has her full attention...

...Because you know, cheerios fall in his lap, and she wants to be sure he's nice and clean! (Most times Henry giggles hysterically, because her snout poking him as she eats the cheerios off his lap tickles him!).

And when his lap is clean, we'll keep guard in case a rogue cheerio finds it's way onto the floor...

Nice bed head Henry! It's a good look!

Very nice color-it looks good in there. Did you paint it yourself? I really like the curtains. Good job sewing. Of course, the highlight of the post is the Henry pics.

And why is it that your boy can grow so much hair while my poor little girl can't keep a clip in her wisps?

P-dog? Is that you?

Wow! I didn't know you were down like dat! HAHAHA!!! It's always so painfully obvious that I'm this middle class suburban SUV driving mom when I try to pull out my ghetto-fab vibe! :)
