Shiner

Hen-Ben took a nasty spill this weekend. We had family in town to help with the move (a house update post will follow soon), and Andy's cousin Tess, brought along her friend Lindsey. Lindsey was holding Hen while sitting on the couch, and I'm not quite sure what happened, but he must have lurched forward and I happened to look over at the exact moment that he fell FACE FIRST into the coffee table. His face took the entire brunt of his fall and body weight (good thing he's little!). I screamed "Oh God...his FACE! He hit his face!" and ran over fully expecting blood and a trip to the emergency room for stitches. God was certainly watching over my little man, because all he ended up with was a gnarly black eye. Now that we know he's okay, it's actually kinda cute. But for hours afterward, my stomach would do little flips as my brain couldn't turn off the image of my baby falling and the sickening thud. Ick. Poor Lindsey felt so bad.

A few minutes after impact...

About an hour later...

The next day.
In honor of his tough guy image, the girls gave him a mohawk and dressed him in his skull shirt.

Lindsey and Henry.

Just call me Rocky Balboa...

These pictures really don't do the bruise justice...

The bruise gets bigger and darker with the passing days. I'll have to take more pictures tonight.

awwww, Hen.... Poor little guy. You did know that in having a son you would have to deal with black-eyes eventually. At least he was not in a fight... :0)
