I am officially MAD

It started out as a mild annoyance.

Then it got worse.

It's now full scale anger.

What is it with little boys' clothes???!!!

We have a wedding to go to at the Four Seasons in San Diego in a couple of weeks. Clearly, I don't really expect to find a little suit for Henry, but for goodness sake, can we come up with something??? All I can seem to find is:

  • Pajama type outfits
  • Onesies
  • Really casual outfits that have a baseball or football on it
  • Incredibly dorky stuff with suspenders

Baby boy clothes doesn't start to get cuter until 18 months. So you mean to tell me that my son has to wear pj's or look like a complete nerd until he's one??? To complicate matters, the poor kid is too small for most 0-3 month outfits so I have NO IDEA what to dress the kid in (and the Preemie size stuff is now too small). Ugh. If I had any idea where to start I would start up my own clothing company.

There are a million DARLING girl clothes in all styles. The boy section is always 1/4 the size.

I'm annoyed.

I completely concur! We have had Kenneth 3 days and I am fed up with baby boy clothes. I think Lindsey Cheney should sell boy clothes, little Silas is incredibly fashionable! Good luck finding something cute! Let me know if you find anything somewhat cute, we only have a couple boy outfits for Kenneth because we were expecting a girl! Give Henry a kiss for me!

I feel your pain, have you checked Old Navy (online has more than the store)? We had a huge family funeral (a week of events Arkansas style) when Zak was 3 months old. I kept him wrapped in a blanket most of the time. I would try baby Gap online for some more options too but he is an infant and since they sleep most of the time pj's are appropriate...

Have you ever been to www.gymboree.com? A little pricey, but great quality and SO cute. They often have good sales too. Check it out.

I get most of Dillon's clothes at the Children's Place. They have cute clothes that aren't too expensive. You can also try Janie & Jack. We're going to a wedding next month and that is where I'm going to shop.

I would try Janie and Jack. They have the sweetest clothes. They run small, so 0-3 might work. It's a little retro...but circa 1940's. The real question is what will you and I wear. :-)

just checked out old navy, they have cute cargo pants, polo shirts, and other button down shirts. No bow- ties though.

Have you tried Carters or Osh Kosh in the Outlet mall?
I don't blame you for being frustrated...the girl stuff is so much easier and they have a wider variety for baby girls. Someone needs to tap into that boy market :)

Jeannett, if you decide you like something at Children's Place or Gymboree we have those stores here in Clovis. I could go find something for you and bring it this weekend. To save money and time and shipping. Let me know.

By the way did you check Johnson's in Downtown SLO. I'd be really surprised if they didn't have something with a collar.

there's a really cute store in downtown slo called bambini, on higuera. but its really pricey, of course. silas has a cute brown and white plaid button down shirt his buddy could borrow (do boys share clothes?). its a little big, but i think boys can wear things baggy and still look super cute. janie and jack is also cute, but pricey too. try mervyns, i have good luck there for polo type shirts. but, after all that, i think jammies are totally appropriate for a babe henry's age!

Lara & Lindsey-You guys are so sweet! I think though that I might go down to LA a few days before the wedding to hang out with family, so I'll just go to the mall and shop! :)

Shhh, don't tell Andy.

off-topic but can i just say that i love a good mall? took the kids to the santa maria mall yesterday (to go to bath and body works and macy's, and so they could ride the little coin-operated rides), and it was pretty depressing. :)

i was in a mall in denver with kevin's cousin and about died, it'd been so long since i'd been anywhere besides the santa maria town center...

(but we CAN boast that the main johnsons for children location is here in santa maria i guess...)

hmmm... i bet you could find a tuxedo bib for him to wear. I actually hate all the ridiculous dresses for girls. They are so impractical for the first several months. There's nothing like a good onsie and a pair of socks if you ask me!

I just googled tuxedo bibs http://broadwaycares.stores.yahoo.net/bi510.html It was $20, but for some charity. I remember my friend buying her son a tuxedo for a wedding for $30, I wonder if you could check men's wharehouse?

i know what you mean--boy clothes are hard. looks like you got some good suggestions though. i agree with lindsey that henry is so little and young, that pretty much anything he wears will be fine. good luck!
